Also, he might draw the largest crowds of the week, something a guy like Fowler will feed off of.
Bubba Watson: What, he can’t win again? Watson’s breakthrough victory two weeks ago was exactly what he needed, and with his rededication to his golf game this time of year, it would be no surprise if he found himself in the hunt once again.
Tim Clark: After his win at the Players, Clark’s focus looked to be lost, but a tie for 12th at the U.S. Open showed he was back to business. The last time he played here, in 2008, Clark finished in the top-20.
Zach Johnson: A year ago he was runner-up in this event, and his game has come around after a shaky start to the year.
And our sleeper is … Davis Like III: Sure, he’s never won the John Deere, but landing a spot in the British Open last week after Anthony Kim and David Toms had to drop out most likely will give Davis some motivation to play well here so he’s ready for St. Andrews.
